q r code

think of a QR code as a sign that points the way from the virtual to the physical world... a sign that is creating a revolution in the U.S. mobile phone market

we can post a QR code to each post, not just to our blog.

for instance, a member of #blogchat  has a blog, and her last two posts are on Palin and An Alma Mater article.  we were in #blogchat and i mentioned using a QR code, not just for one's home page, but also for each post.  and Shannanners

replied asking for clarification, so i whipped together this blog post, not too bad for a sarcastic ferret:

Here is the first on Palin:

Here is her Alma Mater QR Code

thus, she can  a.  "save image as"  the above code (right click with mouse)
                      b.   insert the image into the bottom of each post

and is now ready to direct people with smartphones, iPhones or webenabled phones to those pages.

in conclusion, we can adapt the QR  code to each URL.

Create Your own QR Code by Entering the URL Of your Blog Post

happy blogging.

i wuv u haters

ferrets dance, we wiggle, we are hard to depress, normal things don't get us down like they might a human pet.  sure we don't like it when humans try to steal our ill gotten loot;  but that isn't going to get us upset.  if i steal your sock, you should just move on, it's mine.

so i have a few haters, yea.  it really rankles them that i wiggle, i giggle and stay sarcastic at all hours of the day and night.  i could easily fall into the trap of hating back.  "sam, you can't sing, you must be tone deaf"  i just got a tweet like that a few minutes ago.....

various replies come to mind:  "neither can you..."   or  "your momma sings pretty well"  or another traditional reply  "&%#@ You"  might work well here.

regular readers know i keep a clean profile, and even in my worst state of mind, i don't resort to that type of language.

haters hate it when  we don't hate back.  it's remarkable they even try..  how do they explain that rationally to their colleagues or spouse...

"jim, what ya doin'? what's got you so worked up....?"

jim:  "oh, this darn ferret on twitter, always dancing and bragging he's so awesome, and good lookin...  can't stand this critter..."

colleague or spouse:  "let me see...."  leans over laptop...
   "well he is mighty cute..."

   jim:  "not you too!"

   "jim, you probably need therapy...."

it is quite possible that there is something wrong with jim, but who am i to point out that he's arguing with a ferret?

i can't help it God made me so good lookin'.

Gettysburg Address

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived, and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met here on a great battlefield of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of it as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.
But in a larger sense we can not dedicate - we can not consecrate - we can not hallow this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled, here, have consecrated it far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember, what we say here, but can never forget what they did here.

It is for us, the living, rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they have, thus far, so nobly carried on. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us - that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they here gave the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain; that this nation shall have a new birth of freedom; and that this government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

there can never be enough of a good thing

blogspot provides easy to read stats, and is very search engine worthy, since it is owned by almighty god...errrr i mean Google, the search engine giant.   this stat screenshot  was at midnight after most of you went to bed, and even then it shows 9 "views" ....

multiple outlets for our voice is key

i had opened an account at  which is a hub of sorts for all blog connections; and i have been looking for another blog or two to open.  my social media coach seems to think i can handle cut/paste pretty well.

@hylamolander informed me she had over 70k views on  i moved over there with my awesomely useless, vitally inneffective dating tips, hopefully there will be no police involved in the taking thereof too seriously.   even more recently @alikat747 has encouraged some of this cross-marketing herself

two points are important to bloggers:

      a.  if you are comfortable where you are, open another blog somewhere else, and cut/paste the entire contents to your new blog, adding a page a day so as not to bombard your new set of readers.  no point in turning them off before you get to know them. but definately open a new blog today

      b.  use the stats feature provided by the vender, in this case google because you can develop "key times"  to post your new blog entry

in another article, i read what we have all probably suspected, that the best time to post a blog "tweet" is between 4 and 5 Eastern Standard Time.  there are other peak times, say between 10 and 11 am EST, and of course Friday at rush hour.

my own statistics mirror the results of the article, and i have taken advantage of these "trends" to enlarge my blog following, and to promote other people's blogs.

i blog primarily for my own entertainment  purposes, and actually nap and dance for a living.   i am also thinking of taking up training masseuses;  teaching them how to dress, giving them tips on technique and the all important art of the oil rub down...

now if i could just get my manic uncle freddie to quit driving through  my flower beds with his lawnmower....

blimps and drag queens

"don't be a drag,  be a queen"  ... lady gaga's lyrics associated with "dance music" is certainly that; 80's oriented, purple haired, disco thumping dance music:   i am sure she gets lots of airplay in gay bars around the world..

my favorite moment of the grammys was a colorful plume of feathers with skinny gwyneth paltrow serenading...  the eruption on twitter sent me into a laughing spree not seen since i saw my uncle freddie slip on the ice patch, and take his masseuse down the driveway with him, cursing and yelling obscenities at all the injustices of winter...

one look at the blimp in feathered plume?
                                                      i was done

i have a great way for you to vote for someone who really deserves our vote:

this is a vote for @leeannesavage  for "most popular" in tucson.  now leeanne is just the 'all american girl next door' you wanna vote for.  someone who is leading the 'most popular' category.... everyone wants to back a winner, and leeanne is a winner!!

the lost tribe

like all ferrets since the dawn of time, fear is not in the vocabulary.  watch any ferret video on youtube, you get the idea.  large animals, birds of prey, snakes, they are all flabbergasted that we turn around, face them, and say "beat it buddy"

even the use of the word "flabbergasted".  now that must take some modicum of courage to pull off the use of that word

little wonder i found myself in the jungle searching for the Lost Tribe of the Delta.  a couple of alligators, mean looking snakes, and even a cannibal happened upon me, took one look, and decided they'd go scare something that
wanted to be scared.

i found the tribe sitting round the campfire.  why is it that no matter what time of day it is, these reclusive tribes have a fire going?  i'd like to say it was evening, but it was mid day, the sun was up, and they were kicking ashes.

some of them had been hunting, others climbing trees for low hanging fruit, still others working with the missionary.  if they were really lost they'd not have this missionary there harrying them to heaven

"has anybody heard of android"  i asked?

were they in for a treat.  i gave them each a cell phone;  and we had a fun time  with the apps.  one local wanted me to show him how to text, another to game, before it was over, they were pretty well versed on this cell phone stuff.

their missionary approached and argued: "hey, you know, these people are gonna lose their culture, they are going to become like us, you can't just show up and give them all cell phones"  she said.

not afraid of a missionary any more than i am of snakes, i said, "but you can give them religion?"

no missionary has ever given a more indignant, shocked look.  "and another thing" i continued, "there's a new app where people can make confession using their smartPhone.  imagine that, confessional by phone."

i've never thought religion was absolutely necessary to be spiritual.  one can have a great deal of spirituality without a missionary, it's a matter of being willing to grow each day.

this pure logic  caused the chief to escort the old battle axe to her canoe, apparently convinced the Lost Tribe of the Delta no longer needed the missionary to confess their sins of tree climbing or running around in the amazon delta.

very politely, gently he eased her into her vessel, pointed down river, and in his language, smiling brightly said, "never argue with a ferret, nobody has ever proven them wrong".

thus they'd gained a civilizing tool  in order to lose a missionary, an outcome i could not have dreamed

before leaving, i reminded them all to call their mothers and wish them a happy valentines day

wiggle for me baby

early yesterday, i discovered i had about 400 votes on some site called flaxo

now, it must be some automatic feed or something, or they gather their votes from various sources, but i find it hard to believe that so many people would take the time to vote for a ferret as the "best of" anything

so i hovered over the vote button to see what would happen, and voila' next thing i know, the site is blasting a tweet to my timeline that i voted for myself!  imagine my embarassment

but like dancing a merry dance till i fall off the sofa, i just went with it, can't let something like that befuddle me

but oh was i befuddled.  very odd day, i don't know if anyone noticed it, but i was restless, out of sorts, and not myself, didn't even give any tips, well, ok, i gave a dating tip:

Dating Tip: inflammatory bowel or chronic flatulence are not good conversation starters

"Sam, are you going anywhere with this blog post?"  Ann, the evil censor from Ann Arbor just wrote.   She's so vain, she probably thinks this blog is about her, her, her... that was my carly simon imitation.

ann, your city is not named after you, you are not supposed to be reading my blog everytime i hit "publish" or save and run to make coffee.

so my tips have been compiled in a handy to use, carry with you sort of list.  now, granted, you are probably going to meet the person of your dreams, run off to paradise, have little babies and farm animals, and never read my blog again, but such is the risk i take putting these gems together and out there.  Sams Dating Tips

my post yesterday was  a plug for @HylaMolander s new book. a person going through renewal, coping, and living.  gotta check that out.

i was also mentioned in @PiperBayard s blog post along with host of cool people, you don't wanna miss that read.  a funny author, with a light easy going style, you have to read her posts.  she is quite the diversion from everyday "befuddledness" a word i can see by my spell checker that i apparently just made up.  you'll see what i mean, read it here:

maybe the odd feeling comes from being a victim of too many wiggles, snuggles and poptarts.  obviously, there are folks who mention me, and i don't reciprocate, who get no mention or i get sidetracked, and forget to mention them, and i feel guilty, and by the time i go to mention them, they are 300 tweets down my inbox, and well, i'm a ferret, i find something fun, and plunge.

to all of you, who say hello, and take the time to tweet me, and are kind to me for no reason i'd like to say i do read your comments, i do see them, and i want to so very much get back to you.

keep wiggling all of you, and don't stop wiggling to see if i am wiggling back, just wiggle anyway, and dance, and keep on dancing, the smile will come, and it will bring out the best in you, the best in all of us.

remember, sometimes i'm in that state of befuddledness, and when one ferret starts wiggling, there is no telling what kind of fun might occur!

so you wiggle for the both of us

i found this posting under this video, and it touched me, beautiful song by Meat Loaf, who loves anthems:

I grew up listening/singing to this song in my friend's room that her parents had just painted bright pink. Her name was CJ, she's passed away now and at a young age and she is the only thing I can think of when I here this song. . .I'm in a bright pink room with her. . .singing our nine year old hearts out. . . from YouTube

i found bigfoot

"sam, do not. DO NOT. go searching for bigfoot again"  my human pleaded directly into my pink nose, as i was held by the nap of the neck, i had no choice but to put on my innocent look, and charmingly feign innocence.

since i was a small kit, i have wanted to find bigfoot.   i had to find him.  like marco polo traveling to the exotic orient, there was a hunger, a thirst, some kind of eternal yearning...

no sooner had the door shut behind my pet humans, i was off on a grand adventure, and right through the flower pot i went.

he was not as ferocious as he has been made out to be on the science channel.  after growling, and stomping, and much beating of chest, he simmered down.

"so why do you keep scaring people, what's your problem, squatch?"  i asked.

"i go into the villages looking for preparation H" he replied.

"all this time you've been acting like this because of painful rectal itch, and because you're broke?"

his halitosis was not something i wish to describe here; i perched on his shoulder, prince of the rainforest, upon my royal throne.

bigfoot had no money, he couldn't afford a doctor, no way to solve the terrible ache he suffered from...

we watched the moon together, two poor creatures in awe of creation, quiet, contemplating the wonder of it all.  bigfoot, misunderstood, tired, an outcast, with his biggest admirer.

he reached up and touched my nose, so gentle, so lightly, i could have sworn it was my imagination

"and yet" he said, "i am the richest of them all"

the winter of discontent

today i rec'd a tweet from a gentleman who said, "You make jokes about Egypt, my nation you idiot! I'm not Egyptian, I'm Arab."

it's hard to refute that sort of logic

i have had a pretty hard time getting anything to paper lately. TracyLynnP passed on to heaven, and out of respect i did not put pen to paper for a few days. she would have wanted me to write something, so i put together two installments of my winter story. but then the chronology was out of whack, and the beginning would be the last piece, and has to be rearranged, so i just threw my hands up, and worked on another project, which is a dangerous precedent.

yet nobody has seemed to have noticed in the least, or asked me, so i guess it really didn't bother anyone.

i have been the victim of monster storms which left me powerless... no electricity. but then i look at folks like @LukeRomyn an author down under, he tweeted that the cyclone was hitting hard, and he was still tweeting.

Kindle Wireless Reading Device, Wi-Fi, Graphite, 6" Display with New E Ink Pearl Technology click for Kindle

and i have my new years resolution: to write daily. so i have kept my word to myself, if i fudge the numbers a bit, i have averaged one post per day, since i posted more than two blog entries on some days in january.

things are settling down. has a new post, @TheCriticalPost on Twitter wants me to finish a piece on the blackbirds, @PiperBayard has me as subject content next week, and well, it's time i find it within myself to get back on schedule.

thanks for reading and stopping by, i cannot tell you how much fun it has been each day to laugh again, and to share a moment or two with each person whom i've met.

even those who think i'm an idiot
